BetMGM and Topgolf Entertainment Group have inked a partnership deal centered around an integrated sports betting and entertainment experience. The two entities that announced the partnership Friday will collaborate on marketing and promotional offers via the BetMGM platform at chosen Topgolf venues and its leading online golf game, WGT.

The Dallas-based sports entertainment company is already one of the popular entertainment options in areas with a Topgolf location. While expansion continues, there are already 50+ locations, including some in the Vegas area. Similarly, BetMGM, a joint venture of Las Vegas-based MGM Resorts International and UK-based Entain, has already grown to be the third-most formidable online sportsbook in the US after DraftKing and FanDuel. As golf embraces the transitional phase of the regulated US sports betting landscape, it made perfect sense for Topgolf to team up with BetMGM.

BetMGM’s Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost said in a news release that the company looks forward to “introducing Topgolf guests to the immersive sports betting experience that only BetMGM can provide.” He added that “Topgolf is known for offering unique and interactive entertainment options, which our loyal BetMGM users can now access through a variety of exclusive and customized packages.”

Partnership Details

The partnership will see more BetMGM branding within Topgolf venues in states where both companies operate. For instance, Las Vegas has a Topgolf venue at the MGM Grand, besides other venues in Indianapolis, Nashville, Denver, Detroit, and Virginia Beach. These cities fall within the jurisdiction of those states that have already legalized sports betting following the landmark Supreme Court’s 2018 judgment that struck down PASPA.

Besides branding Topgolf’s venues where BetMGM operates, the MGM Resort’s digital arm will also activate branding and promotional integrations in those Topgolf venues as its sportsbook and gaming app launches in new states. Despite the partnership being in its embryonic phase, Friday’s news release suggests promotions between BetMGM and Topgolf will be one of the vital initial phases to be rolled out.

The news release also highlights the new engagement will allow both entities to engage with consumers on a massive scale while targeting new audiences, both online and in-person. While sharing the official excitement on behalf of the company, Topgolf Media Chief Operating Officer JF Prata, said they are extremely excited to team up with BetMGM. He said, “Topgolf has always been committed to providing new and exciting experiences to our guests, and this partnership delivers on that, while providing our longtime fans, as well as those less familiar with Topgolf, an introduction to a complementary experience with BetMGM.”

Thanks to this partnership, the continued expansion of both companies is likely to offer huge growth for both.
