Caesars Partners With Diamondbacks Ahead of Arizona Sports Betting Launch

Spread the Word:

Caesars Entertainment inked a deal on Thursday with the Arizona Diamondbacks to launch mobile sports betting in Arizona. The 10-year partnership- reportedly to be worth around $60 million-$70 million- with the Phoenix-based professional baseball team will allow the casino giant to build a first-class sportsbook and bar concept on the plaza adjacent to the D-backs home, Chase Field.

D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall said the team management went a great deal to find the ideal partner that would bring experience and the strongest of reputations in regulated gaming.

“Caesars is considered to be the cream of the crop and aligns with our philosophy when it comes to professionalism, customer treatment, and brand presentation, and brings its top in class William Hill mobile sportsbook and retail sports betting expertise.”

Hall added that the team went found the industry leader in the education and execution of responsible gaming only after it “went through its strong due diligence.”

What Does the Deal Offer to Caesars?

The association simultaneously allows Caesars Entertainment online sports betting market access, in addition to exclusive sponsorship in sports betting and daily fantasy sports (DFS) for the D-backs. Besides, the Las Vegas-based casino and hotel company also concluded a multi-year agreement with Major League Baseball (MLB) to be named an authorized gaming operator of the league.

Caesars Entertainment’s CEO Tom Reeg said the company has long enjoyed successful gaming operations in the Grand Canyon State and is excited to expand into sports betting alongside the home team.

“Together, we can find new ways for baseball fans to engage with the sports fans… Our ability to link those into our Caesars Rewards network will create an unparalleled experience for any sports fan.”

Caesars Plans Mobile Sports Betting Before the NFL

Following recent legislation, the state that legalized sports betting in Arizona, the alliance between the Caesars and D-backs will create a brand-new, state-of-the-art sportsbook, bar, and broadcast studio at the venue previously known as Game 7 Grill on the Plaza at Chase Field. The sportsbook will be open year-round.

When sports betting is launched in the Grand Canyon State, residents can download the sports betting app to place legal wagers anywhere in the state. Caesars could launch a mobile betting app in Arizona ahead of the NFL season. The parent company closed its purchase of William Hill US betting services in April.

Caesars Sportsbook Offers Incredible Experiences

Through Caesars mobile betting app, fans can earn credits and tier status to unlock wonderful experiences. Those credits can be redeemed in the form of hospitality, entertainment, gaming experiences, including access to VIP experiences with the team at Chase Field.

As part of the deal, Caesars joins the roster of D-backs corporate partners, which will be integrated into marketing efforts including access to digital assets. Access to signage will also be included to allow Caesars to connect with the D-backs fanbase.

Caesars Grabs A Strategic Opportunity

Caesars’ latest partnership with D-backs and MLB are the most recent additions to the casino giant’s growing list of sports relationships. The company also announced an expanded deal with the NFL recently.

In Arizona, the entertainment company’s move comes after the state regulated sports betting on April 15.

“We felt like this was the best available opportunity in Arizona because it came with such a great retail component,” William Hill US VP/Strategy & Business Development Daniel Shapiro told the media. “In downtown Phoenix, having access to their fan base and others who will be around that venue 365 days a year.”

Shapiro said the company believed it was an ideal place to activate and get the Arizonians engaged with the brand, besides using it to drive mobile customer acquisition as well.
