Houston Texans Name Caesars As Official Casino Partner

Spread the Word:

Caesars Entertainment has become the official casino partner of the Houston Texans, according to a news release provided by Caesars Thursday.

The partnership between the Las Vegas-based casino giant and the Houston-based professional football team goes into effect immediately before the 2021 NFL season kicks off.

The regular season is scheduled to start on Sept. 9, 2021.

The multi-year association allows Caesars to incorporate its brand name into the team’s promotional channels. Additionally, the partnership grants the casino company various advertising privileges.

Caesars Rewards to Be Integrated into the Deal

As part of the deal, the company’s most prestigious customer loyalty program Caesars Rewards will be integrated into the Texans’ promotional channels, including in-stadium signage and digital and traditional media assets.

Caesars Rewards will also sponsor the free-to-play “Schedule Pick ‘Em’ game, available on the Texans official mobile app.

Before the NFL schedule release, fans can submit their matchup predictions for a chance to win prizes like a paid trip to a Caesars destination property, game tickets, and more.

Fans can also have a chance to be treated like a Caesar as the company will select one lucky Texans season ticket holder for an all-inclusive trip to Sin City.

Caesars Rewards members will also get benefits, including an exclusive chance to cheer on the Texans like a royal guest inside a luxury suite at NRG stadium.

Caesars Plans to Expand Across Leagues and Sports Teams

Chris Holden, Co-President of Caesars Digital, said in a release the parent company is committed to expanding ties with leagues and professional sports teams.

While expressing traditional excitement over the partnership, Holden said Caesars looks forward to creating extraordinary experiences for Texans fans by leveraging the company’s vast portfolio of casino, hospitality, entertainment, and sports expertise.

Terms of the deal were not revealed, nor was specified the exact duration of the so-called “multi-year” deal.

Caesars is also the official casino sponsor and sports betting partner of the NFL and has prior deals with the NBA, NHL, and MLB.

Casino Gambling, Sports Betting Still Illegal in Texas

Texas lawmakers failed to legalize commercial gambling this May despite the best efforts by some Las Vegas gaming interests.

House Joint Resolution 133 – which would have allowed the development of Las Vegas-style casino resorts in major cities – was left to die in the Texas House Committee on State affairs.

Las Vegas Sands spent nearly $20 million during the state’s 2021 legislative session to make commercial gambling happen but remained unsuccessful.

But sports betting is flourishing and is currently legal in more than 20 states. The NFL – once the biggest opponent to such activity – has embraced it now. In-stadium sportsbooks and on-site betting are coming soon. More recently, the NFL has allowed up to six sportsbook ads per game, according to Bill King of Sports Business Journal.

The NFL has named three leading sports betting companies – FanDuel, DraftKings, and Caesars – official sports betting partners of the league.

Texans President Greg Grissom said the partnership with Caesars “aligns perfectly” with the team’s commitment to creating memorable experiences with fans.
