Memphis Grizzlies & FanDuel Announce Sports Betting Partnership

Spread the Word:

FanDuel Group and the Memphis Grizzlies have recently announced a multi-year sports betting partnership, a ‘first’ for both entities. This is reportedly the first partnership of both FanDuel with an NBA Team for sports betting, and the Grizzlies with a sports betting operator.

The historic agreement comes just a day after Tennessee launched its online-only sports betting market on November 1. The Memphis Grizzlies quickly seized the opportunity by striking the deal that will make FanDuel Group the official sports betting partner and exclusive daily fantasy sports partner of the Tennessee-based basketball team.

FanDuel Group is one of the four operators approved by the state of Tennessee.

More Details

The deal places FanDuel Group in the top 10% financially among the Grizzlies 70 partners. The agreement will also enable FanDuel to access official Grizzlies marks and logos to use across its online sportsbook offering and daily fantasy sports products. Additionally, the collaboration will give FanDuel access to in-arena signage at FedExForum, enabling it to directly promote its gambling platform to enthusiasts through Grizzlies marketing on different media, including radio and television.

The New York-based sports betting company will also present the professional team’s home and away television broadcast with various integrations to enhance the experience for those sports enthusiasts who choose to watch the Grizzlies from home. Besides, FanDuel and Grizzlies are working to offer several once-in-a-lifetimes experiences to FanDuel customers.

When asked to shed more light on the deal, the FanDuel spokesperson refrained from saying much except for describing it as a multi-year partnership.

The FanDuel Group CMO Mike Raffenspberger said, “As we expand our sportsbook into Tennessee, partnering with the Grizzlies was a no-brainer given the professional team’s popularity…as well as their shared mindset of being absurdly fan-focused.”

While expressing incredible excitement over the collaboration with Grizzlies, Raffenspberger said that FanDuel would bring unique promotions, product innovations, and engaging online experiences to both Grizzlies lovers and Tennessee sports fans.

While stating in a news release on Monday, Memphis Grizzlies President Jason Wexler said that the team is looking forward to helping Grizzlies fans, the most passionate in the NBA, new ways to access their sports fandom. “FanDuel has been a wonderful partner in creating a program that will exhibit why they are one of the top sportsbooks for Grizzlies fans,” Wexler said.

What Are The Two Offering?

FanDuel and the Grizzlies are offering some unique promotions for the sportsbook’s new customers in Tennessee. It includes sign up promotion for Tennessee residents. Those who sign up for FanDuel sports betting site by entering promo code “GRIZZLIES” will get a $20 free bet with no deposit required.

Besides, the state residents who sign up for FanDuel in the next 24 hours and enter “GRIZZLIES” as a promo code will be eligible for winning an autographed Grizzlies jersey in a random selection.

Furthermore, the FanDuel app introduces a risk-free first bet up to $1,000 for Tennessee residents. More importantly, FanDuel promotions are very simple and easy to understand. Any bettor who doesn’t win their first bet is automatically refunded it, up to $1,000 in website credit.

FanDuel, A Leader in the Betting Industry

Launched in 2009, FanDuel has offered mobile sports betting in seven states before targeting its eighth on November 1 when Tennessee officially regulated its sports betting market. Since Tennessee has made unprecedented legislation to allow online-only sports betting, FanDuel has no retail location in this state. However, the sportsbook offers retail locations in seven other states.

FanDuel allows consumers to use the same account for fantasy sports and its Tennessee betting site, with a shared wallet useable for both fantasy sports and sports betting interchangeably.
