Professional Fighters League Names BetMGM as Gaming Operator

The Professional Fighters League has named BetMGM a “US Authorized Gaming Operator” of the league, according to a news release issued Wednesday.
The deal will allow the fans across the United States to wager on fight lines on BetMGM – one of the top online sportsbooks in the country – beginning Thursday.
Second for PFL
BetMGM – a digital arm of the MGM Resorts International – is the second operator to partner with the PFL as the American mixed martial arts league recently signed a multi-year partnership with DraftKings. Under the PFL-DraftKings deal, announced in April, the Boston-based sportsbook would serve as the “Official Sportsbook and Daily Fantasy Partner.”
Founded in 2018, the PFL says it has quickly established as the No. 2 MMA company worldwide in a short span of time.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is believed to be the No. 1 MMA company. It was founded in 1993.
Key Details of the Deal
As part of the PFL-BetMGM deal, the online sportsbook will have rights to the league’s logos and marks, as well as VIP events. The partnership will also offer BetMGM subscribers PFL-related promotions.
PFL Chief Executive Officer Peter Murray said the league is excited to partner with BetMGM to evolve PFL’s betting experiences for the millions of passionate sports fans across the nation ahead of PFL 4.
“Our fighters are facing win-or-go home matchups in the remaining events and expanding our sports betting offerings delivers another exciting component to our league,” Murray said in the release.
MMA enthusiasts can bet on PFL matches through the BetMGM platform, with PFL 4 airing Thursday, June 10th on ESPN networks and other streaming platforms. The event is taking place in Atlantic City.
The league’s six regular-season events have been taking place at Ocean Casino Resort. The season kicked off on April 23.
‘Final Push’ on Thursday
On Thursday night, fighters across the featherweight and lightweight divisions will have an ultimate chance to earn a spot in the PFL Playoffs in the knockout stages.
Former world champion and mixed martial artist Anthony Pettis will be eying to recover from an upset defeat in his PFL debut to earn one of the division’s four playoff spots when he faces undefeated Alexander Martinez.
BetMGM will offer a free $10 bet for users who place a $25 bet on PFL 4.
“The upcoming PFL slate is phenomenal,” said Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer of BetMGM. “We look forward to giving fans thrilling opportunities to get in on the action with one-of-its-kind PFL promotions on BetMGM.”
The league continues to accelerate its global expansion with the addition of top-class talent and by partnering with leading brands. Sports fans across more than 160 countries worldwide can tune in to PFL 4 and watch the live-action on Thursday, June 10th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
