Delaware Park online launched in November 2013 as a joint venture between the Casino at Delaware Park and 888 Holdings. This gaming site is licensed by the Delaware State Lottery.

Powered by 888 software, Delaware Park online features a small selection of slots and table games.

Delaware Park welcome bonus

New players are eligible for a 100% match bonus worth up to $100, plus 20 free spins. This deal is standard at the state’s other online casinos, including Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway.

One must deposit at least $20 to qualify for the bonus. Terms and conditions (T&Cs) on the offer are as follows:

  • Bonus must be used within 30 days after being awarded.
  • The bonus is cleared by earning Status Points.
  • 2.5 Status Points must be earned per $1 withdrawal.
  • Ex: $100 bonus requires 250 Status Points before being cashed out.

T&Cs on the free spins are as follows:

  • Free spins must be used within 30 days after being awarded.
  • Winnings from the free spins are limited to $20.
  • 2.5 status points must be earned per $1 cashout.
  • Ex: $20 in winnings requires 50 Status Points before being withdrawn.
  • Winnings must be rolled over within 90 days, or they expire.

Other Delaware Park online promotions

Delaware Park casino features a different promotion for every day of the week. These promos are subject to change, but offers generally involve cashback, free spins, and slots vouchers.

For example, “Cashback Tuesday” offers 10% cashback worth up to $50 at the time of this writing. Players must deposit at least $20 on Tuesdays to qualify.

VIP program at Delaware Park online

The Delaware Park loyalty program revolves around Status Points and Rewards Points. Both types of points can be viewed in the “My Rewards” section under the “My Profile” tab.

Status Points

The Delaware Park loyalty program features eight statuses. The number of Status Points players accumulate determines their standing in the program.

Upon advancing in status, players keep their new level until the end of the next calendar month. If players earn a new status on March 10, for example, they’d retain this level until the end of April.

Here are the available statuses and required number of points to reach them:

  • Level 1 = 0 Status Points
  • Level 2 = 15 points
  • Level 3 = 25 points
  • Level 4 = 50 points
  • Level 5 = 100 points
  • Level 6 = 500 points
  • Level 7 = 1,500 points
  • Level 8 = 4,500 points

No information is offered on the exact advantages of moving up the ladder.

Rewards Points

Rewards Points are simultaneously awarded along with Status Points at a 1:1 ratio. They don’t expire, unless one’s account is inactive for three months.

No info is available on the exact uses for these points. We assume that one use involves converting them into cash, as is common at many online casinos.

Who can play at Delaware Park

Gamblers must be 21 years or older and physically located in Delaware to play for real money at this casino. Delaware Park uses geo-location technology to determine whether a player is within the state’s borders.

Anybody can register for an account and browse the software as long as they’re 21. Again, though, they must be within the state to bet real money.

Delaware Park browser-based casino software

This casino’s software is powered by 888. Delaware Park has similar games and software to other online casinos in the state, which also run on the 888 platform.

This site requires PC and Mac users to play through their browser. The Flash plugin must be enabled in order for the software and games to load.

Delaware Park casino app

The Delaware Park app can be downloaded on any mobile device that runs Android or Apple iOS.

The Android app is available on the casino’s website, while the iOS app is found in the App Store as “Delaware Park Online Casino.”

This app shouldn’t be confused with the “Casino at Delaware Park” app, which is strictly for the land-based venue.

Delaware Park mobile has a similar feel to the desktop version. However, it also has some notable differences.

First of all, the lobby isn’t as glossy as the PC/Mac client. The latter includes far more graphics and a better overall presentation.

One must scroll sideways to view available mobile games. This method is inefficient when considering that the app tends to scroll sideways and downward at the same time.

Banking options, promotions, and account information can be accessed through a small menu in the top-right corner. These sections are easier to navigate than the games area.

Delaware Park mobile games

Just 18 of the site’s 60+ games are available on the mobile app. 16 of these games are slots, while two are table games.

Although the limited selection is disappointing, the games at least run smoothly, just like they do with the desktop version. They load quickly and don’t disconnect in our experience.

Games at Delaware Park

888 and WMS are the only two software providers that serve Delaware Park, and most of the game selection comes from 888, which has limited offerings.

This casino has no video poker variations. It also has an extremely limited selection of table games.

The variety of slots is also minimal, with only a few dozen options available. Nevertheless, these games are unique in terms of graphics and themes.

Slots

Delaware Park features 50+ slots on their desktop version. Although relatively small in number, this selection does cover a broad range of categories.

The slots are divided into four categories, including “1-20 lines,” “1-25 lines,” “jackpot,” and “exclusive.”

The progressive slots jackpots aren’t massive, but some of these prizes do grow quite large. Millionaire Genie, for example, offers a jackpot worth over $185,000 (at the time of this review).

Notable slots at this casino include:

  • Bruce Lee (WMS)
  • Giant’s Gold (888)
  • Irish Riches (888)
  • KISS (WMS)
  • Millionaire Genie (888)
  • Ragin’ Rhino (888)
  • Zeus (WMS)
  • Zeus III (WMS)

Table games

Like other DE online casinos, Delaware Park has an extremely limited selection of table games. Blackjack and roulette are the only available options.

Classic blackjack is a standard 6-deck game that offers 3-to-2 natural blackjack payouts. It also forces the dealer to stand on all 17s.

This game allows players to choose different betting limits, including $1 to $500 (low stakes) and $10 to $3,000 (high stakes). It also features options to change the table color, number of hands dealt, and announcer voice (male/female).

American roulette has a set betting range that goes from $1 to $300. However, it does allow players to customize the table felt, background music, and game speed (turbo on/off).

Deposit options at Delaware Park

This gaming site is fairly limited in terms of deposit methods. Available options include:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • ACH (eChecks)
  • Neteller

The minimum deposit for all of the methods listed above is $10.

Visa and MasterCard are both fast ways to fund a Delaware Park casino account. Unfortunately, they cannot be used for withdrawals, and the convenience of speed is overshadowed for some players by the cash advance fees charged.

ACH can be used for both. The problem, though, is that funding an account with an eCheck can take several days to complete.

Neteller can also be used to deposit and cash out. It’s generally faster than ACH, but can require greater fees for large transactions (i.e. 3%).

Withdrawal options at Delaware Park

ACH and Neteller are the only available withdrawal methods at this casino.

ACH cashouts can take up to eight days to complete when considering processing time. Neteller withdrawals typically take 2-3 days to reach a player’s account.

Delaware Park doesn’t charge fees for cashouts, which is a big advantage to playing here. They also allow gamblers up to three days to reverse a withdrawal request.

Customer support

Delaware Park customer support is available 24/7 through email and phone.

Players can normally reach a rep within minutes when using phone support. Emails may require up to an hour or more for a response.

The lack of live chat is a big downside to Delaware Park. Most online gamblers prefer live support, because it puts them in touch with a rep almost immediately and allows them to multitask.

This site also offers an FAQ section that covers many important topics. Here are the broad categories that the FAQs address:

  • Depositing and cashing out
  • Getting started
  • Login issues
  • Location issues
  • Promotions
  • Registration
  • Responsible gaming
  • Technical requirements

Casino history overview

Delaware Park opened as a thoroughbred racetrack in June 1937. It was strategically built in Stanton, DE, which is close to the borders of Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

By the early 1990s, Delaware Park and other tracks in the state were struggling. In 1994, the state Legislature passed the Horse Racing Preservation Act, which allowed racetracks to offer slot machines.

The Casino at Delaware Park quickly established itself as the state’s largest gambling facility. It’s still the biggest to date, boasting over 2,3000 slot machines.

In 2012, Delaware became the first state to legalize online gambling. Delaware Park took advantage of this by launching an online casino near the end of 2013.

Today, the land-based and online casinos are owned by William Rickman. Other key personnel involved with this operation include Andrew Gentile (COO & general manager), Mike Vild (Senior VP), and John Mooney (VP of Racing).

Delaware Park Online Poker Review

Delaware Park online poker is available to visitors and residents of the Blue Hen State. It’s a joint venture between the Delaware Park racino and 888 Holdings.

This internet poker room holds a license from the Delaware State Lottery, and it is part of the Multi-State Poker Network (MSPN), which currently consists of Delaware, Nevada, and New Jersey.

Delaware Park’s poker site struggled mightily in terms of traffic after launching in November 2013. They’ve seen an uptick in liquidity since joining the MSPN, but they still have trouble maintaining healthy traffic in cash games.

Nevertheless, Delaware Park remains a viable internet poker option in this state, if only because all other online poker sites in DE suffer from the same problems.

Getting started at Delaware Park online poker

Delaware Park online is available through desktop software for PCs and Macs. They do not offer a mobile app, which, in addition to low traffic, is their biggest weakness.

Perhaps Delaware Park and 888 don’t feel that the market is big enough to worry about a dedicated app or browser-based mobile play. Whatever the case, you can only play here through a computer.

Desktop download

Downloading the software package is relatively easy. You simply need to choose the poker option on Delaware Park’s iGaming site and follow the prompts.

We had the software up and running within less than 10 minutes. Once the download is complete, you don’t even have to register for an account to browse the lobby.

It is convenient to check out the site without the need to hassle with the registration process and the inevitable promotional emails.

Requirements to play

You must be at least 21 years old to enjoy real-money poker at Delaware Park. You also need to be physically present within the state to play.

Account registration can be completed from anywhere. You just have to be within state boundaries before jumping into real-money games.

All Delaware poker sites use geo-location to pinpoint your location. Geo-location uses the Wi-Fi on your internet-capable device to determine if you are in the state.

Delaware Park poker signup bonus

Your first deposit is eligible for a 100% match poker bonus worth up to $500, but you must deposit at least $10 to qualify for this offer.

This deal is the same signup bonus that’s available at the other internet poker sites in Delaware.

You release the bonus by earning status points (SPs). $1 is released per 8 SPs, which come through real-money cash games and tournaments.

The bonus is awarded in $5 increments for the first $20. It’s then released in $10 chunks for the remainder of the offer ($20 to $500).

What are Status Points?

Status Points (SPs) determine your status within Delaware Park’s poker VIP program. They also factor into the release of bonuses.

You earn 2 SPs for every $1 paid in tournament or cash-game rake. A bonus meter shows how close you are to earning the next increment.

How long do you have to collect the bonus?

You are given 60 days from the day of your initial deposit to earn as much of the signup bonus as possible. Any unearned portions will expire after 60 days.

Other promotions

All of the other promos at Delaware Park online poker revolve around casino gaming. Therefore, it’s unlikely you can look forward to any dedicated poker promos.

This site is part of 888’s annual Online Poker Championships. This multi-state tournament series features over 100 events and offers millions of dollars in prize money.

Loyalty program

The Delaware Park VIP plan awards SPs and Rewards Points (RPs) based on your play. You earn both types of points at a 1:1 ratio while playing.

Again, SPs determine your status within the program. This loyalty plan features the following eight levels:

  • Level 1 = Automatic
  • Level 2 = 15 SPs per month
  • Level 3 = 25 SPs per month
  • Level 4 = 50 SPs per month
  • Level 5 = 100 SPs per month
  • Level 6 = 500 SPs per month
  • Level 7 = 1,500 SPs per month
  • Level 8 = 4,500 SPs per month

RPs can be exchanged for cash by visiting your account section. Nevertheless, no information is given on the exchange rate or the perks of moving up in the VIP program.

Poker games & traffic at Delaware Park

Delaware is a very small state with less than 1 million residents, and as such, it is not big enough to support much online poker traffic by itself.

Therefore, Delaware Park jumped at the chance to enter 888’s MSPN. They now draw enough players to support low-limit cash games and some poker tournaments.

Cash games

Delaware Park offers three different cash-game variations in Texas hold’em, Omaha, and stud.

Hold’em features no-limit, pot-limit, and fixed-limit hold’em betting structures. Omaha and stud are both available in Hi and Hi/Lo formats.

Hold’em

NL hold’em is the only game that draws any notable action at this site. Most of the traffic is concentrated between stakes of 1 or 2 cents and 25 or 50 cents.

We did see a couple of tables running at $1/$2 and $2.50/$5 during peak hours. However, the same stakes probably don’t see any action during non-peak times.

Omaha and stud

Omaha Hi/Lo had one table running at the 5 or 10 cent stakes during our visit. Neither stud Hi nor Hi/Lo had any active tables.

Poker tournament action

The MSPN has had the biggest impact on Delaware Park’s multi-table tournament (MTT) selection. You can compete in a number of large tourneys at this site each week.

Every weekend, several major tournaments run at stakes ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. The buy-ins for these events vary from $50 to $215.

Sit & Go’s

Sit & go (SNG) buy-ins range from $0.25 to $200. We were surprised to see players seated in stakes as high as $50.

Both PL Omaha and NL hold’em SNGs are available. However, we only saw one active PL Omaha tourney.

Blast

Blast is an SNG format that sees four players compete for a variable prize pool. A random lottery determines the prize pool, which can be as high as 10,000x the buy-in.

Delaware Park poker deposit methods

This site offers  three deposit options, including the following:

  • ACH (eChecks)
  • Mastercard
  • Visa
  • Neteller

You must deposit at least $10 with any of these methods.

ACH offers an easy way to fund your poker account through an eCheck. You just need to supply your routing number, checking account number, and check digits.

Visa and Mastercard are the quickest ways to fund your account. However, the banks that issue these cards sometimes reject legal online-poker deposits in Delaware.

Withdrawal options

ACH is the only way to withdraw money from Delaware Park.

An eCheck lets you send money directly from the poker site to your bank account. However, you’ll have to wait up to a week to receive your funds.

Customer support

Delaware Park online poker offers 24/7 customer service. You can reach support through email and phone, with the latter being a quicker option.

Unfortunately, live chat is not  available here nor at any other poker site in Delaware. This is unfortunate because live chat is usually the quickest way to reach support.

Delaware Park offers an FAQ section that covers a broad range of topics. You may not even have to contact customer service if you check this section first.

Final Verdict

Delaware Park is a decent online poker room if you enjoy MTTs and low-stakes cash games.

Thanks to the MSPN, there are plenty of large tournaments on a weekly basis. PL and NL hold’em stakes from 1 or 2 cents to 20 or 50 cents have a fair amount of players.

Of course, Delaware Park is far from perfect. For one thing, they do not offer a poker app or promotions beyond the welcome bonus.

The lack of an app or browser-based mobile play means that you’re confined to playing through a PC/Mac. This Is a serious disadvantage in an environment where pretty much everything else is mobile these days.

You can earn a fairly large deposit bonus and VIP rewards at Delaware Park. However, all of their promos revolve around casino gaming.

Ultimately, this poker site compares well to its instate competition, including Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway. They do have plenty of room for improvement, though.
