WynnBET has announced a partnership with the Colorado Rockies, the sportsbook’s second Major League Baseball partnership in a month. In a multi-year deal announced Wednesday, WynnBET will serve as the official sports betting partner of the Rockies.
As part of the deal, WynnBET – the digital sports betting arm of the Las Vegas-based hotel and casino company – will have access to a wide range of assets of the Rockies. Additionally, Wynn Resorts’ digital sportsbook will run in-game promotions pregnant with prizes such as trips to Wynn Las Vegas.
The Rockies have prior deals with sports betting companies like DraftKings and Betfred.
WynnBET already operates in the Colorado sports betting market through a market access deal struck last September with Bronco Billy’s Casino.
Why Seeking Another Partnership in Colorado?
WynnBET has been pushing hard to compete for the market share for the last 10 months, making its intentions clear it wants to play a bigger role in US sports betting. This partnership with the Rockies is the beginning.
WynnBET is also currently live in New Jersey, Tennessee, Michigan, and Virginia. The sportsbook is operated under Wynn Interactive, the online gaming division of Wynn Resorts.
Through the deal, WynnBET will host a number of premium hospitality events during the team’s home games. The mobile sportsbook will also be able to choose fans for select memorable moments, including participation in on-field ceremonies.
What Features WynnBET Customers Can Expect?
Significant features for the Wynn customers include “memorable moments” like throwing out the first pitch. WynnBET app’s spin wheel will offer a chance to win game tickets and other prizes such as a trip to Wynn Las Vegas.
WynnBET planned to promote the partnership by offering a special Rockies in-app odds boost for Wednesday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, allowing Coloradans to bet the home team at plus-500 (max $10 bet).
Fans attending games at Coors Field – the home ground of the Rockies – will witness rotating WynnBET signage and branding behind home plate and also on the main video boards in left field.
While speaking to the Denver Post, WynnBET CEO Craig Billings said the company views the Rockies as a multi-year opportunity to engage regularly with fans. “Our strategy is to build partnerships and customer relationships that are enduring,” he said.
It’s Just the Start!
It is worth noting that the Rockies have not included betting lounges in any of the three sports betting deals. Even if one comes in the future, it will not be including betting kiosks, which are only permitted at casinos – in the three gaming towns – under state law.
As US sports betting continues to expand, barely any day passes without the news of a new sports betting deal. While the Rockies have three sports betting partnerships now, the Denver Broncos (NFL) have similar deals with FanDuel, BetMGM, and Betfred, and Denver Nuggets (NBA), and the Colorado Avalanche (NHL) have one with the Australian-based operator PointsBet.
Rockies-WynnBET partnership is also just the start for the sportsbook aiming to compete with the likes of DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM – the three biggest market leaders in US sports betting.
The Rockies are WynnBET’s second MLB deal in less than a month, joining the Cincinnati Reds.
