It is properly licensed by the Curacao eGaming Authority, one of the most reliable names in global online gaming. Third, it is the most user-friendly online sportsbook, with 100% mobile-friendly features. Four, it offers the best sports welcome bonus in Louisiana.
BetUS covers every US sport, including major events like football, basketball, baseball, and hockey. In addition, Louisiana bettors can also bet on things like the Olympics and politics. This top Louisiana site covers every significant sport or league in any part of the world.

BetUS again tops our list for the best welcome bonus category in Louisiana, with 100% up to $2,500 in sports bonus bets. Use the JOIN125 and make at least a $100 deposit to claim this enticing bonus, which has a 10x rollover and 14-day expiration.
BetUS allows eight deposit options, including major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) and cryptocurrencies. However, this top Louisiana site currently includes only four withdrawal methods – Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin. We hope they add more withdrawal methods.
Bovada has increased the level of competition for sports betting online in Louisiana since it launched in 2011. This Curacao-licensed site has a clean user interface, ideally suited for use on mobile, though it is as suitable for desktop users.
As one of the best NFL betting sites, Bovada runs many specials and boosted odds on the events. The site is as good for March Madness betting as it is for providing competitive odds on college football. You can also bet on professional basketball, baseball, ice hockey, and many significant international events like England Premier League.
Bovada Prop Builder for the NFL is the best thing about this site. This exciting feature puts you in a central position, allowing you to call audible for each game on the daily lineup. In addition, this build-your-own prop betting tool will add thousands of wagers to each NFL game, allowing you to create your own custom prop parlays for the largest payouts.
Bovada allows Louisiana players a 75% up to $750 in crypto sports welcome bonus. Use Bitcoin, USDT, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash, or Bitcoin SV Deposit on your first deposit to claim this one-time offer. This bonus has a 5x rollover. Use the code BTCSWB750 and make a minimum deposit of $20 to claim this crypto bonus.
Like BetUS, Bovada also includes eight deposit options – a decent mix of credit cards and cryptocurrencies. In addition, Louisiana bettors can withdraw their winnings using seven different methods, including Bitcoin, bank transfer, and checks.
But the inclusion of MatchPay is a standout feature at Bovada, making it the only Louisiana site with e-wallet banking options. After creating your MatchPay account, you can use PayPal and other significant e-wallets for deposits and withdrawals in Louisiana.
The only thing we don’t like about Bovada is that they charge too much (15.9%) on credit card deposits.
MyBookie has been a trusted betting platform serving Louisiana sports enthusiasts since 2014. This Duranbah Ltd. subsidiary is licensed in Curacao to offer US-wide operations.

After rigorous research for the best Louisiana sportsbook apps, our experts have agreed on BetUS, BetOnline, and Bovada. Although all these operators are offshore-based, they stand out among the competition. They are even better than the locally licensed Louisiana mobile sportsbooks (overseen by the rigid Louisiana Gaming Control Board) and boast the securest online platforms.
Our top Louisiana operators use advanced SSL encryption and modern techniques to secure their customers’ online data. Besides, they offer the best free bet and bonus bets and competitive odds than the newly launched local mobile sports betting sites.
Louisiana sports betting has been live and fully operational since January 2022. The state law allows up to 20 licenses in one of the most competitive markets in the nation. There are eight legal mobile sites in a market that could have 41 in a fully saturated market.
LA sports gambling legislation had been on the November 2020 ballot, when 55 of the 64 parishes approved sports wagering. So technically speaking, if you live in one of the nine parishes that didn’t authorize online wagering, you would have to drive to a neighboring parish to place a legal bet. A more viable way is to place online wagers via one of the best Louisiana sports betting sites mentioned above.
The 2020 ballot solely legalized online sportsbooks—Louisiana online poker and casinos remain illegal for now, but we remain optimistic for the future.
Here are some of the key features of the Louisiana sports betting law:
Sports Betting in Louisiana was officially legalized in June 2021 after Gov. John Bel Edwards signed Senate Bill 247. It came less than a year after Louisiana became the first state to make sports betting legal parish by parish.
On Nov. 3, 2020, 55 out of 64 parishes (counties) approved sports wagering. The parishes that did not allow sports betting were:
Louisiana bettors living in those areas are forced to travel to a parish with legal sports betting, like a Caesars Sportsbook, to place bets. Luckily, they can also place an online sports bet from the comforts of their homes using one of the top offshore sportsbooks.
The Louisiana lawmakers approved sports betting in June 2021 through mobile applications and kiosk locations in parishes where residents supported the activity in the November vote.
Senate President Page Cortez sent the sports betting bill to the governor’s desk after approving the measure in a 33-3 Senate vote and 78-15 in a House vote. In late June, Gov. John Bel Edwards signed the law legalizing sports betting, paving the way for a timely launch by the football season in September 2021.
The Louisiana Legislature took up three sports betting bills – HB 697, SB 247, and SB 142. HB 697, which established the taxes and fees for legal sports betting sites.
Sports betting in Louisiana completed its legislative journey with Edward’s signatures on the remaining two bills. SB 247 included provisions for the regulatory aspect of sports wagering; SB 142 was related to the distribution of funds generated from the new industry.
The Louisiana sports betting law created 20 licenses, with the state’s casinos and racetracks given priority. However, if these locations didn’t seek all 20 licenses by Jan. 1, 2022, daily fantasy sports operators and video poker establishments in the legal parishes would be eligible to apply.
An operator that secures a sports betting license to conduct wagering onsite can also have mobile wagering via mobile skins – two maximum for each operator.
The Louisiana Lottery Corporation will operate a mobile skin and kiosk locations set up in bars and restaurants that serve alcohol.
In May 2020, state lawmakers approved a measure asking each parish to legalize sports betting. In November 2020, voters in 55 of 64 parishes voted to approve sports betting in their respective parishes, allowing the Louisiana legislature to move forward.
The ballot measure on sports betting collected 1.3 million votes with 65% statewide votes in favor. Nearly 35% or 683,000 votes opposed the move, according to numbers compiled by Louisiana Wins, the group behind the initiative.
Most parishes in the Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Lafayette areas supported the sports betting proposal by a huge margin. The major opposition came from some rural parishes.
State Sen. Cameron Henry, who sponsored a sports betting proposal in 2020, said there is no need for Louisiana residents to drive to Mississippi to place a legal wager and have those revenues go to Mississippi.
“Clearly times have changed when it comes to sports wagering,” Henry said. “People are going to do this. People are going to bet on sports events. This allows them to do it in Louisiana and we can capture some of that revenue.”
However, the Louisiana Family Forum opposed sports betting in the state. The group promotes traditional values and said legalized sports betting in most parishes would raise the specter of wagering 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
“LFF will advocate for restrictions to protect minors and addicts from predatory practices,” Gene Mills, president of the conservative group, said in a statement.
Louisiana mobile sports betting went live on Jan. 28, 2022. Six sportsbooks – DraftKings Sportsbook at the Golden Nugget Lake Charles, FanDuel, Barstool Sportsbook in coordination with Penn National Gaming, BetRivers, BetMGM, and Caesars Sportsbook Louisiana – went live on the launch day. It came nearly three months after Betfred launched the state’s first retail sportsbook with a partnership with the Paragon Casino Resort in October 2021. Former New Orleans Saints wide receiver Joe Horn placed the first wager in Louisiana.
As of January 2023, there are eight mobile sports betting applications in Louisiana, including DraftKings Sportsbook online and Caesars Sportsbook Louisiana. Some new operators will join soon in a market that can have up to 41 online sportsbooks.
Adults 21 and above living in the 55 Louisiana parishes that approved sports betting in 2020 can place a legal mobile bet. Luckily, the top three offshore sportsbooks we reviewed above accept Louisiana residents aged 18 to place statewide online bets, including those nine parishes that did not approve wagering.
The Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB) oversees most types of gambling in the states, including online mobile sports betting sites and Louisiana gambling laws.
Three of four Louisiana tribes may offer sports wagering. Chitimacha Tribe, Coushatta Tribe, and Tunica-Biloxi Indian Tribe – can offer Class III gaming under the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. Sports wagering falls under Class III gaming.
The fourth tribe – the Jena Band of Choctaw Indians – has a Class II game contract with the state, meaning it may not operate sports betting.
On Oct. 5, 2021, Paragon Casino Resort announced a partnership with Betfred Sports. The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe owns the Paragon Casino. A day later, Betfred sports took the first legal bet at its retail sportsbook at Paragon Casino.
On Aug. 5, 2020, Rush Steet Interactive (RSI) partnered with the Coushatta Tribe for social sports betting in Louisiana at Coushatta Casino Resort. RSI owns BetRiver and PlaySugarHouse.
The tribes partnered with mobile operators can offer limited mobile wagering on their respective lands but not statewide mobile wagering.
New Louisiana players can boost their bankroll thanks to the generous promotions offered by the top Louisiana sportsbook applications. Let’s go over the specific promotions in detail below:

With a 100% sports bonus up to $2,500, BetUS is one of the best welcome bonuses allowing you to get $5,000 when making $2,500 as an initial deposit.
A referral bonus is a way your LA sportsbook thanks you if you refer the site to a friend. The more friends you refer to the sportsbook app, the more referral bonus you can earn. BetUS offers 100% up to $2,000 for referring your friend to their site. They must deposit for you to get your referral bonus.
Odds boosts are one of the most frequently awarded promotions by top Louisiana sportsbooks. For example, BetOnline’s Odds Boosters may boost the odds on the Saints. If your boosted bet wins, the payout will be higher than it would have been without this promotion.
Parlay insurance provides partial protection for your multi-leg parlay bet. For example, if you lose your parlay by one leg, your Louisiana site will refund your initial bet. In a standard parlay bet, you must win each leg to payout.
A no-deposit bonus is an online sports betting bonus that offers you free cash to play without making any real money deposit. These bonuses are great for trying out some free bets and seeing if you like the Louisiana sportsbook before making a serious deposit. However, none of our top three Louisiana sites offer any free bets in the form of a no-deposit bonus.
More than 85% of Louisiana sports bettors prefer to bet online, and most of those online bettors do it via their smartphones. Considering this, the top Louisiana online sportsbooks have specifically designed their sites for mobile users. Whether you’re an iOS or Android user, our top three Louisiana sites have you covered.

There are nearly a dozen retail sportsbooks in Louisiana. Here’s the list of those locations:
Joining offshore sportsbooks have various advantages over their local counterparts. We will outline some of the major benefits for you to make informed decisions before joining a betting site in Louisiana.

Saints fans will find exciting odds on Bovada, one of the best NFL betting sites in the state. Prop bettors in Louisiana should try Bovada’s Prop Builder tool for NFL betting.

Election betting is a supreme example. While the state law doesn’t permit Louisiana mobile sites to offer odds on any political event, our top offshore offers exciting odds on US and global politics.
Bovada allows the best odds on US politics, including the US Presidential election 2024. Biden is currently a -170 favorite on this site, meaning if you place a futures bet on the incumbent’s victory in the next year’s election, you will get $100 for every $170 wagered.
All these popular online wagers are available on the top LA betting sites we have reviewed above:
Moneyline: Moneyline is one of the simplest bet types, usually involving two outcomes. In cases where two players or teams are listed on a moneyline bet, you have to pick one player or team to win. A favorite will be represented with a negative mark (-), while the underdog will be represented with a plus mark (+).
Parlays: A parlay bet combines two or more wagers into one larger bet. You must win every wager or leg on a parlay ticket in order to cash. Although it is more challenging to win a multi-leg parlay, many LA bettors love to place a small wager with a chance to win life-changing winnings.
Totals: Totals or over/under betting refers to the total number of expected points, goals, or runs in a match. Louisiana bettors can bet on the combined score of the two sides, picking the over or under, listed by the oddsmakers. Instead of guessing the exact total, you have to bet on whether the estimated total will be over or under, as listed by the sportsbook.
Points Spread: Points spread betting is placed on the margin of victory in a game. Your LA sportsbook will place a handicap on a team based on whether it is expected to win or lose by a certain margin. For example, the New Orleans Saints are a -6.5 favorite in a game. It means they must score a touchdown for you to earn a payout.
Futures: A futures is a bet placed on an event – a series, award, or a political event – whose outcome will be determined weeks, months, or years after the bet is placed. Betting on who will win the US Presidential Election 2024 is a prime example
Prop Bets: A prop or proposition bet is not necessarily tied to the final outcome of a sporting event. Instead, it involves small in-game events like how a certain player will perform. For example, your LA sportsbook may offer betting lines like: ‘Will Jameis Winston throw for more than 350 yards?’
Live Bets: Live betting – or in-game betting – allows Louisiana players to place bets while they watch the game. You can bet throughout the game, and the odds will change depending on in-game developments.
Prohibited Bets: All bet types that the law does not permit are prohibited bets. For example, the Louisiana law does not allow betting on politics and entertainment awards. But you can still bet on these events using the top three offshore sportsbooks we reviewed above.

In the latter case, you will have to bet $130 to win $100.
Deposit and Withdrawal Methods: Explore the LA sites with more expansive banking options. You should have access to your preferred deposit and withdrawal methods.
