Best Sports Betting Promotions in New Hampshire

You can use any or all of the following promotions via the top three New Hampshire sites:

Risk-Free Bets

A risk-free bet is a promotion where your New Hampshire sportsbook refunds your initial bet if you lose it. This promotion is usually specific for certain bet types. For example, BetUS currently offers up to $500 in risk-free bets on a straight bet on a side or total (full matchup or half). If you lose the bet, you must contact the site to claim your risk amount as a free play of up to $500.

Deposit Match

A deposit match is when the New Hampshire sportsbook awards you free bets, matching a percentage of the amount you deposited initially. This percentage may range from 50% to 100% in usual deposits and go up to 150% to 200% if you deposit with cryptos.

Currently, BetUS offers a 100% up to $2,500, meaning if you make a $2,500 worth of initial deposit, you will get $2,500 worth of free bets in site credits.

Odds Boosts

Leading online sportsbooks in New Hampshire will regularly feature increased odds (odds boosts) on certain wager types. This promotion is a way top operators award their loyal customers with better odds, often at the expense of the house edge.

For example, BetOnline’s odds boosters offer boosted odds for various sports betting markets and bet types. Customers will enjoy stunning sports betting value thanks to this odds boost offer.

Parlay Insurance

Parlay insurance helps New Hampshire sports bettors to enjoy some protection against otherwise riskier parlay betting. In a standard parlay, you must win each individual wager to payout. However, with parlay insurance, you will receive a refund if one of your legs misses hitting in a multi-leg parlay.

Referral Bonus

A referral bonus is a reward system where your New Hamphshire sportsbook will award you real money for referring your friends to your site. For example, BetUS currently offers you a 100% refer-a-friend bonus of up to $2,000. Legal Online Sports Betting in New Hampshire

New Hampshire legalized sports betting in 2019, a year after the US Supreme Court struck down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in May 2018. In November 2019, the state’s Executive Council voted to approve a sports betting contract that created a monopolized market. After a competitive bidding process, the NH Lottery chose DraftKings as the only sports betting option in the state.

Is Online Sports Betting Legal in New Hampshire?

Yes, you can bet on sports in New Hampshire via DraftKings sportsbook, which retains a monopoly over online and retail wagering in the state.

According to the New Hampshire sports betting law, DraftKings and the Intralot-powered state lottery offer retail and online sports betting in the state.

Four more legal New Hampshire sportsbooks can enter the market if approved by the regulators.

New Hampshire Sports Betting Laws

New Hampshire sports betting laws allow online and retail sports betting via DraftKings only. The Granite State has yet to open the market for any other sports betting operator – the law allows up to five.

Under the law, there could be as many as 10 retail sports betting locations in the state. Voters in 16 towns have so far voted to allow in-person sports betting at retail locations.

New Hampshire towns that allow legal sports betting include Belmont, Berlin, Claremont, Derry, Franklin, Hampton, Hinsdale, Hudson, Laconia, Manchester, Newmarket, Pelham, Rollinsford, Salem, Seabrook, and Somersworth.

The law provides for three types of betting tiers:

  • Tier I: Pre-game wagering
  • Tier II: In-game wagering
  • Tier III: Wagering that is neither Tier I nor Tier II

The New Hampshire Lottery Commission can offer Tier III bets via lottery retailers. However, the state lottery has restricted itself to only lottery and iLottery games so far.

Some key facts about New Hampshire online sports betting:

  • Bettors must be at least 18 years old to bet on sports in New Hampshire.
  • Betting on in-state college teams is not allowed.
  • You cannot bet on New Hampshire college teams, regardless of where they are playing.
  • The law also does not allow bets on high school sports/events where a majority of participants are under 18 years of age.
  • Voters must approve retail sportsbooks in their towns and cities to have a retail location in their town/city.
  • There cannot be more than five legal betting sites or 10 retail sportsbooks operational in the state at any time.

New Hampshire: The Second New England State to Legalize Sports Betting

New Hampshire became the second New England state with legal sports betting a year after Rhode Island legalized the industry in June 2018.

In July 2019, Gov. Chris Sununu signed H 480 into law, legalizing online and retail sports betting in the Granite State. It came a month after state lawmakers legalized sports betting in June. Rep. Timothy Lang sponsored the bill, which eventually legalized betting on professional and college sports. The state chose not to pursue a competitive market, retaining a one-operator-led monopoly following a revenue-sharing formula.

New Hampshire Online Sports Betting Kicks Off

The New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings launched mobile sports wagering on Dec. 30, 2019, with Gov. Chris Sununu placing the first bet on the New England Patriots to win the Super Bowl. Sununu had earlier encouraged the state lawmakers to speed up the legalization efforts in time for the NFL season.

Sports betting is the right bet for New Hampshire, Sununu said at the launch moment. Terming the launch a win for the kids, he said legal sports wagering would also benefit the state’s education system.

However, New Hampshire remains a close market for either type of wagering. Particularly, legal online sports betting is restricted to the DraftKings sportsbook app, which has retained a monopoly ever since its launch.

Who Regulates Online Sports Betting in New Hampshire?

The New Hampshire Lottery Commission regulates the state’s only mobile sportsbook, DraftKings. Although, in theory, there can be up to five mobile sportsbooks, DraftKings sportsbook has retained the monopoly for more than three years.

There are no updates on whether or not there will be more legal New Hampshire sportsbooks in the future.

Is it Safe to Use an Offshore Sportsbook in New Hampshire?

With the monopolized legal betting option, most NH sports bettors prefer to use offshore sportsbooks in the state. However, many more who want to join are not sure whether it is safe to join an offshore sportsbook in New Hampshire.

It is perfectly safe to join an offshore sportsbook in New Hampshire, which has a monopolized legal betting environment. Although some offshore sites don’t have a great reputation, most popular mobile betting sites in the USA are based offshore. Opting for a reliable offshore sportsbook in New Hampshire is like preferring an Adidas shoe over a locally made shoe.

That said, all our top three New Hampshire mobile betting sites offer the best bonuses, competitive odds, and quick withdrawals.

Sports Wagers in New Hampshire

All these sports wagers are available across our recommended NH betting sites:

Moneyline

Moneyline is the most straightforward wager type, usually involving two outcomes. For example, in a game involving two teams/players listed on a moneyline bet, you must decide which team/player will win. The favorite will be represented by a minus (-) sign, and an underdog will be represented by a plus (+) sign.

Parlays

A parlay bet is when two or more wagers are tied together on a single ticket. You will risk a smaller amount in the hope of a larger payout. However, you must win all individual wagers – or legs – to payout.

Totals

Also known as over/under betting, total betting is placed on whether a game’s combined total – goal, point, or run – will be over or under what your sportsbook determined before the kick-off.

Points Spread

A point spread is placed on the margin of victory in a game, usually in football and basketball. For example, the Super Bowl LVII spread odds were Kansas Chiefs +1.5 and Philadelphia Eagles -1.5. It means if you wagered on Eagles – favored by 1.5 points – and they won by at least 2 points, you would have cashed.

The Chiefs were +1.5 point underdogs.

The final score was Chiefs 38, Eagles 35 – a win for Chiefs +1.5 bettors.

Futures

Futures bets are placed on an event – an award, championship, or election – whose outcome will unfold weeks, months, or years later. For example, betting on who will win the Super Bowl 2024? is a futures wager.

Prop Bets

A prop or proposition bet is placed on any in-game event not directly linked to the game’s final outcome; for example, Who will catch the first pass of the game? Or Which team will score the first goal?

Live Bets

Live betting – or in-game betting – allows you to place a bet as you watch the game. As the game progresses, the odds change in response to the latest in-game situation. Live betting allows you to make informed decisions as opposed to pre-game betting, where you place a bet before the kick off.

Prohibited Bets

You can even bet on certain events not covered by New Hampshire’s only legal sportsbook app. For example, betting on the in-state college games, politics, religion, and award ceremonies.

Betting Online on NFL in New Hampshire

Although New Hampshire has no major professional sports teams to cheer for, NFL is the state’s biggest craze. The New England Patriots, a neighboring NFL team based in Massachusetts, is equally popular among NH football fans.

It offers better moneyline and spread betting odds than any of its competitors in the state.

NCAAF

Horse Race Betting in New Hampshire

What to Look for When Choosing the Best New Hampshire Betting Site

Joining a reliable sports betting site can be tricky. We have prepared a checklist for you to use when choosing the best New Hampshire sports betting site.

Reviews: It is a good idea to read about the site you want to join. Leading online gambling reviewing sites like LetsGambleUSA offer independent reviews of leading online sportsbooks. You can read complete reviews of the top New Hampshire sites to see which suits your specific requirements. You can also verify your research by reading reviews by customers who have experienced playing on those sites.

Licensing Information: Only join an NH site after checking its license. Panama Gambling Commission and Curacao eGaming Authority are among the most trusted online gambling licensing authorities.

Promotions: Compare the New Hampshire sites for better promotional deals. The top sites stand out with promotional offers and lavish bonuses for new and regular customers. For example, BetUS offers up to $2,500 to new New Hampshire bettors.

Accessibility: A top New Hampshire site must be accessible anytime and anywhere. It must be 100% mobile-friendly for all kinds of users. Look for the New Hampshire sites compatible with your iOS and Android mobile apps.

Bets Allowed: The more wager types a sportsbook site offers, the better. Moneyline, parlays, props, futures, totals, and live betting are some of the most common bet types to look for when joining a site in New Hampshire.

Odds Pricing: Compare different New Hampshire sportsbooks for better odds. For example, a site offering -110 on an NFL team is giving better odds than its competitor site offering -120 on the same betting line. In the former case, you will have to put $110 at stake to win $100, and in the latter, $120 to win $100.

Deposit and Withdrawal Methods: Look for the available banking options when joining a sportsbook in New Hampshire. Top offshore sites include more deposit and withdrawal options to facilitate more bettors. For example, BetOnline allows 27 deposit and 22 withdrawal options.

Customer Support: Good customer support says a great deal about the sports betting site’s credibility. Email, phone, and live chat are the major customer support systems to look for when you choose a site.

New Hampshire Sports Betting Revenue

New Hampshire’s sports betting system is based on a revenue-sharing formula. The first winning bidder, DraftKings, agreed to share 51% of its mobile sports betting revenues and 40% of its retail revenues in exchange for a state-wide monopoly.

According to the latest New Hampshire Lottery report in January, the Granite State has seen nearly $2 billion since the launch. So far, New Hampshire online and retail sportsbooks have contributed a total of $62 million to the state’s education fund.

The best thing about crypto payments is that they are free, and their withdrawals are the fastest. You can deposit as low as $20 and as high as $500,000 using Bitcoin in New Hampshire.

Legal Sports Betting in New Hampshire Vs. Neighboring States

Of the six New England states, New Hampshire became the second to legalize sports betting in 2019. Rhode Island, which also has a 51% revenue-generation formula, became the first New England state to regulate the industry in 2018. Connecticut is the latest to join the league of legal online sports betting states in the region.

While Massachusetts also legalized the industry, online sports gambling will go live on March 10, 2023. Massachusetts sports betting at retail locations has been available since Jan. 31, 2023.
