Playtech Launches Pennsylvania Live Casino Studio

Spread the Word:

Playtech, the global veteran online gambling operator, has recently expanded its footprint in the United States with the opening of its third state-of-the-art live dealer casino studio in Pennsylvania.

This addition to the Pennsylvania online casinos market soft-launched at the end of November, offering live streamed blackjack and roulette to start. Other games are set to follow, including Playtech’s expansive library of live casino game shows.

It marks a significant expansion of Playtech’s operations in the U.S., following the successful establishment of studios servicing online casinos in Michigan and New Jersey.

The Pennsylvania facility is expected to operate around the clock, offering online players across legal U.S. markets an immersive live casino experience.

“I am very proud of this significant achievement for Playtech Live as we open our Pennsylvania Live Studio,” said Edo Haitin, CEO of Playtech Live, in a company statement.

“This achievement is a testament to the outstanding dedication and expertise of our team, as well as our commitment to delivering exceptional Live Casino experiences to players worldwide. We are thrilled to complete the tri-state iGaming expansion and conquer yet another key territory.”

Playtech’s U.S. Expansion

The establishment of the Pennsylvania live casino studio by Playtech is testament to the growing importance of the U.S. market in the global online gambling sector.

The U.S. has seen a surge in the popularity of online gambling since 2019, with an increasing number of states legalizing or considering the legalization of sports betting and online casinos. The market is booming, with record revenues so far in 2023 across the U.S.

Playtech’s expansion into Pennsylvania signifies the company’s commitment to being at the forefront of this evolving market.

“The launch of our state-of-the-art studio represents an exciting new chapter in our growth, showcasing our commitment to driving innovation within the industry with our dedicated focus on crafting customized gameplay experiences for the American market,” said Haitin.

“We remain committed to delivering players of Pennsylvania an extraordinary online gaming experience.”

There are also other U.S. markets the European-based global gambling operator has expanded in this year. That has included signing deals in the fast-growing U.S. sports betting market, including partnerships for Maryland and Ohio sports betting.

It also linked up with fellow fast-expanding European operator Bet365 to offer Playtech live casino game shows at online casinos in New Jersey.

Background on Playtech

Playtech, founded in 1999, has been a major player in the global gambling scene for years. It is known for its software for online casinos, online poker rooms, online bingo games, online sports betting, scratch games, mobile gaming, live dealer games, and fixed-odds arcade games online.

With its headquarters in the Isle of Man, a self-governing crown dependency of the UK in the Irish Sea between the United Kingdom and Ireland, Playtech has developed a global presence. It now operates in a dozen regulated markets worldwide, including the U.S. It pulled in some $1.6 billion in revenues in 2022.

Recently news has broken that Playtech reportedly bid $890 million for struggling online gambling operator 888 Holdings earlier this year. But the bid was rejected as too low of a valuation.

888 was also a potential target for takeover by U.S sports betting leader DraftKings. However, DraftKings reportedly cooled on the deal when the former GVC Holdings CEO bought 6% of 888 – only to subsequently come under scrutiny from UK regulators over past dealings at GVC (now Entain).
