Queen Las Vegas, An LGBTQ Hotel and Gaming Room, to Open in Fall 2023

Spread the Word:

Las Vegas, the city known for its vibrant nightlife and entertainment scene as much as casinos, is set to welcome a new addition to its landscape.

The Queen Las Vegas, described as the city’s only gay-friendly hotel, restaurant, casino gaming lounge and bar, is slated to open its doors in the fall of 2023 (rendering pictured).

This new establishment is the brainchild of Q Group Hospitality and hotelier Eduardo Cordova, the creator of The Garden Las Vegas in the Arts District.

Queen Las Vegas will take up 28 fully renovated rooms from the existing Thunderbird Hotel property, built in 1948. The Thunderbird, a popular budget option for Las Vegas visitors, will remain in operation with a reduced room count of 72.

“Queen Las Vegas will host guests from around the world, the community, celebrities and tastemakers alike – providing a safe space for all to live out loud, proud, and celebrate self-expression, inclusiveness, and diversity,” said a press release from the operator.

Celebrate Inclusiveness and Diversity

The Queen Las Vegas will be located at 1215 S. Las Vegas Blvd, which is just off the north end of the Las Vegas Strip. The hotel will operate 24/7 from its opening in September.

The property, which was formerly part of the Thunderbird Hotel, will undergo renovations to transform its 28 themed rooms, exterior lounge, and communal areas.

The hotel is described as a chic, mid-century modern style boutique hotel, restaurant, gaming lounge, and nightclub, all with an LGBTQ-friendly atmosphere.

The developer promises upgraded suites with “vividly colored furnishings, custom murals, and exotic wall treatments throughout.”

The nightclub, which will be open from Friday through Sunday from 10 p.m. until late, promises high-energy drag performances from resident drag queens, a giant disco ball DJ booth, and brunch and dinner services. Nightly DJ sets will start at 9 p.m., and brunch will be served Saturday and Sunday from noon.

In case a night out turns romantic, the famous Little White Wedding Chapel (among other wedding venues) is also feature of this area of Las Vegas.

Casting Call

The hotel is also set to host a “Casting Call” on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., for all hotel positions, including general manager, assistant general manager, model bartenders, model servers, and kitchen staff.

Hotel suite bookings will become available following the grand opening celebration, set for September 2023.

“It has been my mission to create a vibrant and inclusive entertainment district for our LGBTQ+ community, and I’m thrilled to announce that Q Hospitality Group has secured a prime location on the iconic Las Vegas Strip to create the Gayest destination in Las Vegas,” said creator Cordova.

Developer Q Group Hospitality operates boutique, distinctive, and themed hotels with less than 100 rooms across the U.S. According to its website, the company is in the early stages of launching a luxury RV camping service.

Its new Queen Las Vegas venue will be facing competition from The Bent Inn, a Fremont Street hotel resort with a similar gay-friendly concept that is set to open in late summer.
