Yahoo! Sportsbook Now Open at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas

Spread the Word:

The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas has unveiled its brand-new sportsbook in collaboration with Yahoo!.

This partnership has resulted in the creation of a Yahoo! Sportsbook powered by William Hill, located on the main floor of the Venetian casino venue.

The launch marks Yahoo!’s first retail sportsbook venue. The U.S. online giant is the second-largest fantasy sports operator in the nation behind ESPN, which is soon launching its own branded sportsbook in collaboration with Penn Entertainment. However, so far, Yahoo!’s traditional sportsbook has not fared particularly well.

This new 12,000 foot sportsbook will be Yahoo!-branded, but powered by British operator William Hill. The veteran English bookmaker, as they’re called across the pond, previously had another U.S. online division. However, it was bought by Caesars Entertainment in August 2020 for $4 billion, and swiftly rebranded into Caesars Sportsbook.

Yahoo! will no doubt be hoping this Las Vegas launch, in one of the world’s most visited gambling destinations, and just in time for the start of the NFL season, will give its betting brand the boost it needs.

“We wanted to create the best place on the Strip to watch sports,” said Patrick Nichols, the president and chief executive officer of The Venetian Resort Las Vegas.

High-Powered Partnership

Spanning more than 12,000 square feet, the newly designed sportsbook features a 1,770 square-foot LED video wall. The large screen can simultaneously display up to 40 independent sporting events, and there’s a 90 foot ticker for odds and scores.

Additionally, the venue has 30 other TVs and seating space for 105 guests, including “fan cave” sections with extra screens and table service food and drinks. The on-site eateries include Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer and Noodle Asia.

“This redesign pulls through the relaxed feeling of watching a game with your friends – plush sofas, lounge chairs, great game-day eats with the convenience of betting powered by William Hill. And through the partnership with Yahoo!, we’re sure to have additional surprises in store for our guests as we move into football season and beyond,” said Nichols.

William Hill recently launched its new Nevada betting app, which will be integrated with the Yahoo! Sportsbook venue. William Hill was, for a time, one of the biggest sports betting operators in Nevada, and still holds a strong retail presence from Las Vegas to Reno. The operator’s well-known and respected history in the Nevada sportsbook market will have made it an attractive partner for Yahoo! and The Venetian’s operators, Apollo Global Management.

“Our market-leading tech has provided a best-in-class retail sportsbook experience in Nevada for a long time, and we can’t wait to bring this high-powered partnership to life for more sports fans alongside our new William Hill mobile sports wagering app,” said Michael Grodsky, vice president and head of west region digital operations at William Hill U.S.

The introduction of the Yahoo!-branded sportsbook at The Venetian is also a part of a broader renovation plan for the property, which was announced last year.
