Genius and NFL Live Stream Football Betting Debuts for Sportsbooks

Genius Sports, in collaboration with the National Football League (NFL), has unveiled “Bet Vision,” a live streaming service that integrates sports betting directly into the viewing experience.
The platform will initially be available through Caesars Sportsbook, Fanatics Sportsbook, and BetRivers. More U.S. online sportsbooks are expected to add the service in the future.
BetVision allows customers to watch NFL games and place live bets if they’ve previously placed a bet on the event before launching the stream.
That means, for the first time on a general launch for U.S. sportsbook industry, customers can place wagers directly within the live video player of their chosen sports betting app. This experience aims to provide bettors with an integration of live game action and online football betting opportunities.
Genius first partnered with the NFL for official data earlier this year. However, this new launch of a combined game stream and live betting is a big step forward in their business relationship.
“We’re very pleased to be Genius’ first BetVision content partner as they continue to be on the cutting edge of sports betting experiences,” said Brent Lawton, VP business development & strategic investments of the NFL, in a Genius Sports press release.
“BetVision allows us to create a differentiated way for fans to engage with NFL content.”
Driving Engagement
In 2022, Caesars Sportsbook became the pioneer in live streaming NFL games on its app, thanks to a partnership with Genius Sports.
In late 2023, the introduction of BetVision takes the experience a notch higher.
The live-streaming feature will be accessible to customers who place bets on the games. The platform promises low latency, live game video streams integrated with NFL betting odds, bet slips, and enhanced in-game betting alerts. Additionally, on-screen offers will be available during breaks in the game action.
“BetVision is leading a new era of immersive sports experiences,” said Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports.
“The launch brings together our capabilities across data tracking, video streaming, live data and sports wagering to create a game-changing product for sportsbooks. Sports fans and bettors alike increasingly demand personalized interaction, greater customization, and deeper insights combined with an ability to strike a bet seamlessly.”
Future Prospects and Personalization
BetVision also promised to offer viewers the ability to customize their viewing experiences. The platform will allow users to toggle on and off content and states based on their preferences. As the 2023 season progresses, Genius Sports plans to introduce custom options.
The increasing integration of live sports streams and live betting is ongoing across various sports. Recently FanDuel has expanded its PGA live wagering options, and betting on golf has also got more in-depth at Hard Rock Bet and DraftKings.
Its not just sports betting. In 2023 the NFL also released a new collaboration line of officially branded slot machines with developer Aristocrat.
This deeper integration, personalization, and data-driven approach to sports betting engagement comes at a controversial time for some. In 2023, nearly a dozen NFL players have been suspended for gambling violations, and a National Collegiate Athletics Association report revealed a concerning number of high-level college athletes have faced harassment by bettors.
