Maverick Gaming Buys All-Star Lanes Bowling Alley and Casino in Silverdale, Washington

Spread the Word:

Maverick Gaming, a casino and hospitality operator with properties across the American West, has recently acquired the All-Star Lanes & Casino (pictured) in Silverdale, Washington State.

All-Star is a local entertainment venue known for its mix of legal card-based gambling and retro entertainment. It offers table games, poker, 40 lanes of bowling, an arcade, a diner, drive-thru espresso, and full-service dining options.

Casino section patrons must be 18+, but the rest of the venue is marketed as family friendly.

The All-Star has been a significant company in Kitsap County since its establishment nearly 40 years ago. Today it employs more than 150 people. It has been a consistent performing business since it opened in 1985.

“Maverick Gaming is proud of its ongoing investment in local communities and jobs across our state,” said Eric Persson, CEO and majority owner of Maverick Gaming.

“We all look forward to building partnerships with the community of Silverdale, supporting family wage jobs, and investing in a great local entertainment center.”

Growing Portfolio

With the addition of All-Star, Maverick Gaming will now own and operate 23 local card rooms in Washington State. This expansion is part of its ongoing efforts to grow its presence in the region across casino gaming, hotels, and its other ventures.

Maverick was founded in 2017 by Persson and Justin Beltram. The pair are ex-Las Vegas casino executives with 30 years in the business between them.

Persson was previously a senior VP at Las Vegas Sands Corporation, and Beltram was President of Slots (great job title) at the Bellagio and Marina Bay Sands casinos.

Whatever Maverick has planned for the popular All-Star venue and how much it paid for the property has not been revealed.

However, the new operator certainly has experience with high-class poker rooms. In May 2023, it teamed up with Bally’s Corporation to build a VIP Maverick Gaming poker room at the legendary Tropicana Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip.

Silverdale locals (population ~20,703) will be no doubt hope some of that Las Vegas razzmatazz will be brought across to the All-Star by its new owners.

Before this week’s purchase, Maverick most recently expanded its Washington property portfolio last year. It paid $80 million to take control of the four card rooms of local operator Evergreen in late December 2022.

“We expect there to be enormous consolidation, as well as operational and marketing benefits, to our company as a result of this transaction. Maverick will move swiftly to integrate these two companies in all aspects, and we expect to see benefits from this purchase by January,” Persson said at the time of the deal.

Online Expansion

As well as physical card rooms, Maverick Gaming has also recently been expanding into online poker.

In May, it introduced a poker-specific online platform, providing players with a 70% rakeback deal when they sign up and make their initial deposit.

“We want to provide players with a safe and secure place to play online poker, and with a brand that is trustworthy and transparent,” said Dan Kent, director of poker at Maverick Games, at the time of the launch.

“I can’t wait to see the first run of players take advantage of our 70% rakeback offer and sit down at the table for plenty of thrilling poker action.”
