FanDuel Launches Genius Sports’ BetVision Live NFL Betting Streams

FanDuel has launched its collaboration with Genius Sports and its BetVision product. The cutting-edge streaming solution allows players to simultaneously view and bet on live NFL games with a host of overlaid features.

The new features, debuted earlier this year, combine advanced data integration with live sports viewing to offer an immersive and interactive football betting experience.

Genius first partnered for NFL live streaming on a betting app with Caesars Sportsbook in 2022. However, in 2023 it kicked things up a gear with the launch of the immersive BetVision.

Initially it has been available at Caesars Sportsbook, Fanatics Sportsbook, and BetRivers. Now, it is also available via market leading operator FanDuel.

“As an official sports betting partner of the NFL, we’re continuing to look for ways to elevate the betting experience on our platform for fans during every game,” said Mike Raffensperger, chief commercial officer of FanDuel.

“Partnering with Genius will allow us to pair our industry-leading product with access to BetVision to build a seamless live betting experience for fans.”

Features of NFL BetVision

NFL BetVision will be integrated into the FanDuel Sportsbook app. It will allow football betting fans to watch select NFL games live in the app, with enhanced betting features. These include integrated live odds, real-time game stats, and graphic overlays.

Genius Sports, as the exclusive distributor of the NFL’s official league data, will continue to provide FanDuel with access to NFL Next Gen Stats (NGS) and the league’s official sports betting data feed. Both are incorporated into the BetVision product.

BetVision’s technology in the FanDuel app, the official sportsbook sponsor of the NFL, enables customers to use live stat tracking, a feature widely used by major broadcasters and streaming partners in the U.S.

This enhancement is expected to significantly increase in-game wagers, customer engagement, and retention through a richer experience.

Continuing Expansion and Market Impact

Interestingly, Genius is currently being sued over the technology. Sports betting tech provider Panda Interactive claims it patented the technology years ago.

Panda says it is currently supplying live sports streaming with betting overlays to global sports leagues and sportsbooks outside the U.S, and Genius is infringing on its patent.

However, that pending lawsuit has seemingly not put off Genius from continuing to roll out BetVision.

With FanDuel, it has plans to extend the partnership, including integrating additional BetVision capabilities such as in-game alerts, data-driven augmentations, and narrative experience bet suggestions.

These options are similar to the enhanced golf betting options FanDuel rolled out earlier this year.  

Overall, this expansion is expected to catch FanDuel’s live NFL betting experience up to that of its rivals.

Mark Locke, CEO of Genius Sports, heralded the technology as game changing, as it continues its rollout across U.S. online sportsbooks.

He says that sports betting revenue for his company is up 34% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2023, and he sees the recent debut of BetVision as a key part of that success.
